The rest of the playground

At 12:30 pm Sunday, March 25th, the 4th day of the playground build, we (Zachary, Daddy and I) arrived at the playground. On the flyers it said that it was family day and everybody was allowed to work. To my dismay, when we got there a sign said: MUST BE 12 TO BE ON SITE. Daddy said I was old enough to work as long as I stayed with him. That was very annoying but after a while I found a job sanding something with a palm sander. Then Heidi came up and said I wasn’t allowed to use power tools but I could help with sealing the wood or raking the mulch. The rest of the day I ran errands, raked the mulch, went down the slide and watched people.
Saturday, March 31st
At 10:00 Daddy and I went to the playground to help do the finishing touches.
The first thing we did was we raked up stones to put in the tires for the zip line to hold them down and filled them the rest of the way with mulch. While we did that some other people finished the sealing. Then for a while I blew the mulch onto the sides of the parking lot with Scott Noll’s electric blower. When I left they were finishing the fence.

Teddy, I went back and read ALL your blog entries again!
You are writing very well, and I like to read all your comments. It helps me know you a bit better and learn what interests you. It's great that you and your neighborhood friends have such a nice playground where you can have fun. Grandpa and I hope to get over to your house in another couple of weeks so we can see what you and everybody else worked so hard to put together. I saw a bunch of pictures on the internet of the playground as it was being built, and I did see at least one photo of you carrying a cooler. I'm guessing it had ice in it and it was probably pretty heavy too, huh? It sounds like you learned to do a variety of jobs--it comes in handy sometimes--knowing how to do different things. Your daddy is a good example of being a jack-of-all-trades.

Wow, Teddy! It is cool that you had a big hand in making your neighborhood playground. That is something to be really proud of I think The zip cord sounds really neat.

Cool Teddy, good job on the playground, it sounds very nice. Maybe you could post a picture of it sometime. We will have to go see it when we come there, whenever that will be. Bye now.
